HUBBARD RESIDENCE

A spine scheme is used with the longitudinal axis set perpendicular to both the hillside and the coastline. This approach allows the house to both merge and contrast its setting and allows the various rooms to be arranged along either side of the spine according to their program, height, and orientation requirements.

WINDHOVER

Windhover orients toward a view of famed Black Point and seeks harmony with two adjacent hedgerows. A subsequent addition doubled the size of the "temple house" and features a wall of exposed 2X10 framing, dyed pomegranate red, creating integral shelves and display niches.
